The Foundation 

More than your average bank

East Sussex Credit Union Foundation is a charitable organisation aiming to ‘improve financial resilience and well-being for individuals and the local community’. It was initiated from within East Sussex and is working in a close partnership with other charitable agencies to help those in most need of financial support and financial resilliance.

Considerable resource and effort have been needed to meet all the regulatory and compliance requirements demanded of charities nowadays. Potential funders also need evidence of track record, infrastructure, and solidity of any business cases for planned projects. Despite this, we continue to develop grant applications and attract much-needed volunteers to help out.

Our focus is now on looking at opportunities to support loans for essential white goods and finding tools to facilitate financial education, based on proven behavior change techniques.
