The team in Kent were delighted to be invited by My Birth Support CIC to lead a recent session focused on practical financial skills: budgeting, saving, and understanding credit scores. It was a valuable opportunity to connect directly with parents and caregivers, sharing insights that can make a real difference in their daily lives.

The session, led by our Community Engagement Officer, Jenni, fostered open and honest conversations. Participants shared their experiences with debt and credit management, and all took the proactive step of checking their credit scores online. This level of engagement reinforces our belief in providing accessible, relevant financial education.

At Wave Community Bank, we understand that financial well-being is a cornerstone of family stability. We’re committed to delivering tailored support that meets the specific needs of our community, and this session with My Birth Support CIC is a great example of that commitment in action.

About My Birth Support CIC

My Birth Support CIC is a fantastic organisation that provides essential parenting support, including antenatal and postnatal care in the Canterbury area. They create welcoming and inclusive communities, both online and in person, where parents can share their experiences without judgement. Their approach, centred on “listening without fixing,” fosters a supportive environment for all.

They warmly welcome biological, adoptive, foster, step-parents, carers, and grandparents, and offer flexible sessions that accommodate parents with or without their children.

The Importance of Practical Financial Skills

By working with organisations like My Birth Support CIC, we aim to equip parents with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate their financial lives with confidence. This session was a testament to the power of community-focused financial education.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with My Birth Support CIC and look forward to continuing to provide these valuable sessions with them and others in the future
