As the colder months draw in, financial pressures rise — and for NHS staff, now is one of the busiest and most challenging times of the year. Our Financial Wellbeing Support Officer, Tracy Cox-Horton, has been working across Trust sites to offer dedicated support, guidance and practical help.

A Surge in Staff Seeking Support

October alone saw over 600 staff contacts, with people reaching out for everything from quick questions and follow-ups to in-depth financial wellbeing appointments. Crisis cases have also increased, and Tracy’s on-site presence has been vital in making sure staff can get help when they need it most.

Helping Staff Build Stability

From support with budgeting to accessing fair and affordable finance, Tracy continues to help NHS colleagues strengthen their financial wellbeing. Many staff have been supported to start saving regularly, while others have accessed affordable loans where needed — ensuring they have a safer alternative during difficult times.

Training, Guidance and On-Site Presence

Although training sessions are expected to dip over the winter months due to operational pressures in hospitals, Tracy will continue to maintain a strong on-site presence. These months can be financially tough for families, and consistent support will remain in place.
