Wave Community Bank was pleased to have our Financial Wellbeing Support Officer, Tracy Cox-Horton aka “Money Tracy”, take part in this year’s Carers Rights Day Conference at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex).
Carers Rights Day is an important annual event that brings together staff with caring responsibilities and the organisations that can support them. With so many UHSussex employees balancing their NHS roles alongside unpaid caring at home, the event provides a valuable opportunity to ensure staff are aware of their rights and the resources available to them.
Tracy attended the event to talk about the financial wellbeing support available to all UHSussex staff. She outlined the free 1:1 appointments she offers across the Trust and explained how these sessions can help staff manage their money more confidently, particularly when caring responsibilities place additional pressures on household budgets.
Tracy said:
“I am here to help you with any financial guidance you need. As an ex-financial adviser, I have 20 years of experience of helping people with everything from debt consolidation, budgets, and buying their first home, through to savings, pensions, life insurance and inheritance tax. I have been in the role since July 2024 and have already helped nearly 2,000 members of staff with various financial needs; from being in debt to clearing it and starting to save, advising after a separation or loss of a partner to re-organise finances, and helping staff plan for the future through financial education.”
Tracy’s role forms part of the Trust’s wider Cost of Living support and is funded by University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex) and as an employer of the Save with Chorus Workplace savings scheme run by Wave Community Bank financial wellbeing is provided as well as giving access for staff to save or repay loans direct from their wages.
