Volunteers’ Week is a chance to recognise and celebrate the amazing people who give their time, skills, and experience to support organisations and communities across the UK — and here at Wave Community Bank, we are incredibly thankful for the volunteers who continue to support us throughout the year.

Volunteers are a huge part of Wave Community Bank. From supporting customer services to helping lead the organisation at board level, their contribution helps us continue supporting members and communities across the region.

Our customer service volunteers regularly speak with members, answer questions, respond to emails, and help people find the information and support they need. They are often the friendly voice or helpful reply that members connect with, and the care and time they give makes a real difference to the service we provide.

We are also incredibly grateful for our volunteer Board of Directors, who bring a wide range of professional skills, knowledge, and experience to the organisation. Their support helps guide Wave Community Bank and provides valuable encouragement and expertise to the wider team.

Many of our volunteers have supported Wave Community Bank for a long time, with some board members serving for more than 10 years. Their loyalty and dedication have helped shape the organisation and support its growth over the years.

Special thanks go to Richard Priestman, Chair of the Board, who has supported Wave Community Bank since 2011, and Jamie Marchant, Vice President, for their long-standing support and commitment to the organisation. Their dedication, experience, and continued encouragement have helped support both the team and members over many years, and they remain an important part of the Wave Community Bank family.

Volunteers’ Week is not only about celebrating our own volunteers, but also recognising the incredible contribution volunteers make in communities everywhere. Whether supporting charities, community groups, sports clubs, food banks, churches, schools, or local organisations, volunteers help strengthen communities and improve lives every day.

Everyone at Wave Community Bank would like to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers, past and present, and to volunteers everywhere, for the difference you make.
