At Wave Community Bank, we believe in the power of community and the importance of recognising the incredible efforts of those who dedicate their lives to helping others. We were honoured to join East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in celebrating their remarkable staff and business partnerships during a vibrant two-day event spanning Conquest Hospital in Hastings and Eastbourne District General Hospital (EDGH).
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, a cornerstone in providing hospital and community care to the people of East Sussex, organised this event to express appreciation for everyone connected to the Trust and its ongoing success. The atmosphere was electric, filled with music, light refreshments, dance sessions, hand massages, and, of course, the cutting of a very large cake—a perfect symbol of the community spirit and shared joy.
Local businesses, including ours, came together in a marketplace-style setup, offering NHS Trust staff a glimpse into the various services they can access and benefit from. We were thrilled to present our Workplace Savings Scheme, Chorus, which allows NHS Trust staff to save money and access ethical loans directly from their wages. This initiative aims to alleviate financial stress and promote financial wellbeing among the dedicated staff.
The event also featured a diverse array of services, from baby swimming lessons and fitness memberships to local badminton club memberships, hospital radio, apprenticeship schemes, and functional kinesiology. This rich tapestry of offerings highlighted the robust support network available to NHS employees.
A special part of the celebration was dedicated to recognising the various NHS Trust networks, including the (Dis)ability Network, LGBTQI+ Network, Faith and Belief Network, Women’s Network, and the Multicultural Network. Each network plays a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all staff members.
Aligned with Mental Health Week and reflecting their new values of Kindness, Inclusivity, and Integrity, East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust set up these events as a heartfelt thank you to their staff and partners. The success of the event was undeniable, with a significant turnout of local businesses and enthusiastic participation from staff members. It was an exceptional opportunity for us at Wave Community Bank to engage with NHS Trust staff, discuss our Workplace Savings Scheme, and celebrate the collective achievements.
