A new pair of socks, a new mug or a bag of sweets are usually the ‘go to’ presents when it comes to Father’s Day but how about trying something different?

We’re all aware of the rising costs of things like food but the cost of paper has also gone up, so instead of buying a card how about giving yourself a challenge to spend as little money as you can this Father’s Day but making it extra special by making your card or gift.

If your dad isn’t very good at saving money then how about helping him to start a savings account? You help him open an account with us, starting it off with as little as £6 (£5 membership fee and £1 deposit) and then show him how to save on a regular basis. By having a savings pot you’re not only able to treat yourself in the future but you will also have a safety net if things go wrong with the car for example.

If you’re a father yourself then why not use this Father’s Day to teach your children to save by showing them how to allocate a savings pot in your budget each month so when you’ve both saved up, why not plan an exciting trip or activity to do together.

However you choose to celebrate Father’s Day, we hope you have a good day!
