Wave Community Bank’s Community Engagement Officer, Jennifer, enjoyed a truly unique networking experience at the “What’s On In Kent” event in April. Hosted by the wonderful The Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats in Boughton Monchelsea, it was a lovely day to connect with the local community.
A key part of Jennifer’s role at Wave Community Bank is to build relationships with the incredible charities and community groups across Kent and learn more about the vital work they do. This event at The Buttercups Sanctuary provided a perfect opportunity for this. Jennifer was deeply moved to hear first-hand about the sanctuary’s tireless efforts in providing a safe and loving home for goats in need. Their dedication and compassion truly shone through.
It was also a fantastic chance for Jennifer to connect with both new and familiar faces within the Kent community. Amidst the gentle bleating and curious gazes of the sanctuary’s residents – including some absolutely adorable new arrivals! – she had meaningful conversations and shared how Wave Community Bank actively seeks to support organisations like The Buttercups Sanctuary. Jennifer highlighted the bank’s commitment to fostering strong relationships within our local community and providing financial services that align with their values and goals.
This wasn’t your typical networking event. The presence of the friendly (and sometimes inquisitive!) goats created a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, fostering conversations and connections in a way that a traditional venue simply couldn’t replicate. It served as a wonderful reminder of the diverse and caring community we are a part of here in Kent.
A big thank you to The Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats for hosting such a special event and for the inspiring work they do. Jennifer left feeling even more connected to the community and with a renewed appreciation for the dedication of local charities. It’s through these personal connections that Wave Community Bank, led by officers like Jennifer, can truly understand and support the good work happening right here in Kent.
