We’re supporting My Money Week (9–13 June 2025) — a national initiative from Young Enterprise that helps children and young people aged 3–19 engage with money in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.

Whether it’s understanding the difference between needs and wants, learning to budget, or saving towards a goal, this campaign encourages schools and families to start the conversations that count.

Why This Campaign Matters

Research shows that children start to develop money habits as early as age 7 — yet less than half of young people in the UK receive any formal financial education. That gap has real consequences, especially in a world where financial pressures are growing, and young people are increasingly exposed to advertising, social media spending, and the challenges of budgeting in a digital age.

Learning how to manage money early helps children and teens become more confident, more informed, and more capable as they grow up. It also builds healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

Helping Young Savers Get a Head Start

We know how important it is to give young people real-world opportunities to learn. That’s why we offer our Young Savers Account — a simple, accessible savings option for children and teens.

Whether they’re putting away birthday money, saving for something special, or learning how to set long-term goals, the Young Savers Account gives children a chance to build strong, positive financial habits in a safe and supportive environment.

It’s also a great opportunity for parents and carers to get involved — talking about spending, saving, and making choices with money. These everyday conversations can make a huge impact and help children feel empowered and informed.

“Saving a little and often, seeing it grow, and learning patience — it’s a valuable lesson not just in money, but in life.”

Ways to Take Part in My Money Week

If you’re a parent, teacher, or community leader, there are lots of ways to take part in My Money Week:

  • Visit mymoneyweek.co.uk to access free, themed resources for children aged 3 to 19.

  • Use #MyMoneyWeek on social media to join the conversation and share your activities.

  • Start a savings conversation with your child — or open a Young Savers Account to give them a real head start.

Teaching Money Skills Builds Brighter Futures

Last year, over 124,000 young people took part in My Money Week. We want to encourage that number to continue growing — because financial education isn’t just about maths or money. It’s about confidence, wellbeing, and opportunity.

By helping young people understand how to make the most of their money, we’re giving them the tools to build strong financial futures and make informed decisions that benefit them for life.

Let’s build those futures together — one conversation, one saving habit, and one young saver at a time
