At Wave Community Bank, we are proud to celebrate International Women’s Day (8 March), recognising the contributions of women in financial services and beyond. As a savings and loans co-operative, equality is at the heart of what we do, with over 50% of our members being women.
We are committed to supporting women’s financial wellbeing and ensuring equal opportunities in the workplace. As a signatory of the Women in Finance Charter, we actively promote gender equality in the financial sector. Our pledge includes:
- Ensuring at least 50% of our Senior Management Team are women
- Embedding gender equality in job descriptions and performance reviews
- Setting and monitoring targets to drive long-term change
Currently, 100% of our Senior Management Team are women, 75% of our management team are women and 60% of our members are women —demonstrating our commitment to breaking barriers and creating opportunities.
International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate progress and acknowledge the work still needed to achieve true gender equality. We remain dedicated to empowering women in finance, ensuring they have the support and opportunities to succeed.
