Following on from earlier this week, Wave Community Bank has continued its work in schools and community events, helping young people build confidence with money and explore future opportunities.
Our team has been out and about across different locations, bringing practical financial education directly to young people in engaging and meaningful ways.
J
ennifer Sutton our Community Engagement Officer in Kent has been delivering sessions in schools, speaking with students about money management, saving, and how Wave Community Bank supports people across the community. These conversations are helping to break down barriers and encourage young people to think positively about their financial wellbeing.
Meanwhile, sessions have also been taking place in Sheppey, where we’ve been introducing what we do and engaging young people in conversations about real-life money decisions. These sessions are designed to make learning about finances more accessible, practical, and relevant to everyday life.
Earlier this week, we were also proud to take part in The BIG Futures Show in Eastbourne, one of the largest employability and careers events in East Sussex.

Representing Wave Community Bank, Business & Community Development Officer Jason Smith spent the day engaging with students, parents, and job seekers, highlighting the importance of financial resilience and the role it plays in shaping future opportunities.
With over 80 exhibitors and thousands of visitors, the event created a vibrant space focused on ambition and career pathways. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the next generation, raise awareness of safer alternatives to high-cost lending, and share how Wave Community Bank supports long-term financial wellbeing.
Across all of these activities, one thing remains clear: young people are eager to learn, ask questions, and take control of their financial futures when given the right tools and support.
Wave Community Bank remains committed to being present in the community—supporting, educating, and inspiring the next generation to make confident financial choices.
