In previous years, December is when people tend to spend more of their money ranging on average from between £500 to £1,000 but will that be the same for this year?

With the cost of living crisis and families struggling to just make ends meet, it’s unlikely that December will see the usual spike and forecasters are now saying that spending this Christmas will drop, as shown in October and November sales – so what are people spending money on?

It sounds like people will be mostly spending money on their energy bills this Christmas and people moving from spending money on non-essential goods to essential goods (mainly food and warm clothes) for Christmas.
