Many of us are on tight budgets at the moment and you may not have the necessary funds to take the family away over the summer so here’s some alternatives on how you can enjoy the summer holidays.   1. Plan a Day Out
    If you get organised and prepare a packed lunch then your days out doesn’t have to be expensive as there’s many places in the area that you can do for free such as spend time in your local park, stay on the beach or visit a friend’s garden.
  2. Declutter your home
    With the kids at home it can be a great opportunity to sort those tasks out that you’ve been meaning to do such as sorting out any old toys that aren’t played with or bag up those winter clothes. If you’re able to then you may even want to get a few neighbours together to arrange a garage sale to help earn some of those pennies back.
  3. Get crafty
    How about seeing what you can recycle in your home and get everyone involved? You can just about recycle anything and you’ll no doubt find videos on Youtube to help you learn how to do it.
  4. Get earning some cash
    You can even get the kids involved in washing your neighbours cars or cleaning up their garden for a bit of cash! Find some paper to get make some posters and put in a couple of letterboxes.
  5. Learn about cooking outside
    With the light evenings how about visiting a local herb garden or go foraging for berries and plan a family activity around a favourite meal with a few extra herbs that you’ve picked?
